Efforts invested in poverty alleviation in ethnic minority communities in central region
Thanks to the support from the State and efforts made by local authorities, many poor households in the central region have gradually gotten out of poverty.
Quang Nam province is home to more than 140,000 ethnic minority people, accounting for 9.4% of the total population, bigger than its neighbouring provinces of Quang Binh and Quang Tri. In the 2016-2020 period, the province invested more than 9.35 trillion VND to improve infrastructure and economic models and renovated production methods in a bid to alleviate poverty among ethnic minorities.
