Vietnam actively joins in Global Compact for Migration – seminar
Vietnam has actively participated in the process of building, negotiating, and approving the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM), as heard at a Hanoi seminar on August 20.
With its active participation in building, negotiating, and approving the GCM, Ambassador Vu Viet Anh, the head of the MOFA’s Consular Department affirmed that Vietnam has been and will be pursuing the policy of promoting legal migration, preventing illegal migration and human trafficking, and protecting the rights of migrants, in which international cooperation is needed to improve the effectiveness of migration management.
